Ms Shine, a student at St John’s Catholic High School in Nowra, began the program in July 2021, and whilst not having much insight into the program upon starting, took the opportunity with both hands.
The Storylines SBAT combines school-based learning and the completion of Year 12 studies with a Certificate II in Sport & Recreation. In addition to this learning, Kiah has assisted the delivery of AFL in school and in after-school programs.
St John the Evangelist Catholic High School loves to celebrate culture.On significant dates the school does a smoking ceremony and the boys do a welcome dance.
Our Blak Caucus... Has been established to prioritise Aboriginal community collaboration and guidance on the project. It consists of Aboriginal cultural leads from our eight participating schools.
Working in conjunction with the Blak Caucus team, a Cultural mentoring program is designed to localise and provide explicit truths and examples in re-shaping content resources and teacher perspectives.
Fine, clear, and slightly warm weather was the perfect backdrop for the Year 7 Cultural Tour held at Lake Arragan, Red Cliff, and Brooms Head on 11–12 and 20 March. One hundred and sixteen students attended along with 20 staff over the three days which the Yaegl Elders hosted.
