Today we participated in the University Of New England – Oorala Aboriginal Center, You Leadership Camp for Junior Boys. The camp offers a comprehensive range of learning and cultural experience to empower the young men in attendance.
Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Aunty Steff to lead a smoking ceremony with the children. She began by sharing the significance of her Coolamon, explaining its traditional uses for collecting berries, bush tucker, and leaves, as well as for carrying babies and even being used in fire-making.
In this video we are introduced to Bonnie, a first-year Bachelor of Agriculture student at UNE. Watch as she shares her journey from boarding school in Melbourne to university life in Armidale and her experience of studying there.
